This phenomenon has spilled over into the programming world. There is now something called Lolcode, a language that has no literal functions in the real world other than being silly and funny. Here is a snippet, courtesy of programming.linux.com (Justin and Kathy, you'll both get a particular kick out of this):
HAI
I HAS A CHEEZBURGER ITZ 1
IM IN YR LOOP
VISIBLE "I has dis many: " N CHEEZBURGER
IZ CHEEZBURGER BIGGER THAN 11 O RLY?
YA RLY
GTFO
NO WAI
UP CHEEZBURGER!!1
KTHX
KTHX
KTHXBYE
I love it! Hilarious! And cute. And eerily serious. Someone has gone as far as building an interpreter for Lolcode, so nobody can just sit around and wing it. It has a dedicated syntax.
If you're a programmer and want to ramp up your skillz, I suggest you purchase the book.
Plzkthxbye.
